I truly believe that EVERYONE can wear a red lip as long as you find the right tone and finish that makes you the most comfortable, or the lip colour will wear you.

I love a red lipstick! I feel happy and confident in a variety of shades of red, from warm orange based-poppy to deep burgundy reds, to classic Chanel-style Blue reds. But I know this is not the case for everyone.

If you are a Newbie to red lips and have always wanted to try them, ask your retailer of choice if they offer a sample service to post out to you. You can also opt for a tinted balm or gloss option. This way you can apply the minimal amount of tint to your lips and build your confidence with stronger colour. If you are already a seasoned lipstick wearer, perhaps try a new or deeper shade or finish - go bold with a glossy red or deep with a vampy look.

Types Of Red

Red Lip colours are interesting because they can come in a variety of shades: from Crimson to Scarlet, all reds have different proportions of Blue and orange that give a warmer or cooler finish.

Cooler reds are considered more classic, and are associated with glamour and sophistication. If you have cool undertones in your skin, eyes or hair, you will have no problem carrying off this colour, though you may need to adjust your blush shade. Warm Reds are more Orange in undertone, and are considered more playful, bold and ‘sunny’. For people with Warm undertones in their skin, eyes, and hair, it’s an easy colour to pull off. But again, I believe everyone can wear most reds, it’s really about confidence.
