Basic Eyebrow Tutorial
Eyebrows can seem really daunting, but just follow the simple guidance in this video to maintain your brows. I do recommend seeing a professional for more advanced shaping, but there is a lot you can do yourself between visits to save time and money. My emphasis here is on a natural-looking brow that is easy to achieve for yourself.
For eyebrow tools, I have been a fan of Tweezerman since my teen years and still prefer them to all other tweezers for work or personal use, with my favourite being the classic slant. I outline basic brow shaping techniques in this video, but you can read a bit more here about the Golden Ratio as it is called to determine where your brows begin and end.
Don’t be afraid, just go step by step when plucking, working away from the line towards the brow, taking away stray hairs that look messy. When close to the arch line, just keep checking your mirror regularly and if unsure, don’t pluck too close to the line until your next pro appointment.
For filling in, I prefer brow pencils, pomades, or shadows to perfect and finesse the shape. Opt for a colour 1 or a half shade lighter than the colour of the hair and err on the side of cooler tones for a more natural finish. Always begin by brushing up and out to see what the placement of your natural brow is.
