Choose the Best Face Oil for You

You know I love a Face Oil. I have been using oils on my skin for over a decade and find that this is the best way to moisturise my dehydrated to dry skin, much more so than a normal skin cream. If you have oily skin, there are oils for you, however, if you have reoccurring acne, you may want to check with a skincare professional or dermatologist.

How to use face oil: Simply massage a few drops of your chosen oil onto the skin that has been dampened with water, toner or floral mist instead of a cream or lotion.

Which Oil to Choose?

I am over-simplifying but oils have different properties depending on a few factors, one of them being their proportions of Oleic and Linoleic acids.

In broad terms, if you have Oily/Acne-Prone Skin, you need oils that are high in linoleic acid like Rosehip, Evening Primrose and Cacay. If you have dry skin, choose high oleic acid oils like Avocado Oil, Sea Buckthorn and Marula.

If you are a starting out with facial oils and looking for basic moisturising properties, you can try simple inexpensive single oil options like organic Jojoba oil, Almond Oil or the oils I mentioned above

For more advanced blends (section below) you can choose from literally 1000s of formulations to address fine lines, dullness, oil production, pigementation and more. The Selection you see below are for most skin types, but let me know if you need any guidance.

For a DIY option can also buy base simple ingredients at reputable suppliers like Aromantic or Naissance or Acala Online for premade DIY skincare kits.

All of my selections are cruelty-free and natural of course, and most are organic and vegan friendly, and ethically made.
